JOB TITLE: Senior Superintendent - Construction (Lifting - Single Point Authority)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review lift plans for Non-Routine (Complex and Critical Categories), Weighing procedures, and Loadout Manuals with Construction Support Operations (CSO) department at home office. Must be in line with Petrofac and project HSSE policies and guidelines.
  • Working closely with Construction lead and team leads to develop lift and haul schedules at site and assist wide optimization and utilization of lifting resources according to site priorities.
  • Assessing lifting / hauling operations to provide planning, selection of crane, lifting gear & equipment, instruction, and necessary safety precaution.
  • Support in developing lift study, heavy haul plans, weighing and loadout plans, method statement and JSA's.
  • Conduct daily site audits to ensure HSE and Lifting / Hauling inspections and procedure compliance.
  • Monitoring of project lifting & rigging operations to ensure all lifts are performed in accordance with approved rigging plans and procedure
  • Qualified person for all Load-out, Load-in, Hauling and Erection activities using lifting equipment.
  • Ensure all lifting / hauling equipment are well maintained, inspected and certified by approved 3rd party and meets the regulatory frequency.
  • Ensure all personnel involved in lifting / hauling operation are trained, competent and 3rd party certified.
  • Conducting training of rigging personnel, VOC assessments and maintaining such records at site.
  • Reviewing and approving lift plan, rigging & lifting procedure and lift studies including subcontractor's lift plan.
  • Confirming there is an effective procedure for reporting defects and incidents and taking any corrective action.
  • Ensuring that the implementation of Petrofac procedures are in place and sub – contractors adhering to them.
  • Conduct audits and functional assessments on projects as advised by HOD.
  • Share the technical knowledge with subcontractors & Petrofac staff.
  • Distribute site wide bulletins for good communications with all personnel.
  • Clear roles and responsibilities to be defined for subordinates
  • Input site construction feedback in Construction Observation Form

Essential Qualifications And Skills:

Single Point Authority shall:

  • 15+ rigging & lifting site experience in direct hire construction with an international oil & gas EPC company and with subcontractors overseeing or managing project lifting and rigging operation in all stages including modular, static, rotating equipment's as well as heavy/oversize transport operation.
  • Have relevant oil & gas offshore and onshore lifting related experience of not less than 7 years with minimum 5 years in a similar position;
  • Hold bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;
  • Have adequate training and hands on professional experience and be competent to act as a Single Point Authority for lifting equipment;
  • Have professional qualification in ISO 9000 like Lead Auditor or similar bodies with sufficient experience in Quality Management Systems
  • Be able to write Lifting plans, supervise and execute critical lifting in oil & gas companies;
  • Have focus on HSE priorities and lead a team of engineers for Safe Lifting Practices across different locations of the organization
  • Be familiar with international standard related to Lifting engineering practices with sufficient knowledge in interpretation and to bring excellence in Change management; and
  • Be trained to the 4-day course of Appointed Person in addition to the 4-day course of Rigging Foreman by an ADNOC Group Approved Training Company and Tutor and successfully pass the applicable exams (He shall be trained and assessed on the same type of offshore or onshore Crane i.e. Offshore Appointed Person Course is different than Mobile Crane Appointed Person Course).
