Job Description


Identify & develop studies and recommend procedures and practices to improve operational efficiency of Road Management Center.
Ensure that all people, processes, procedures and systems relating to the RMC are suitable and adequate and that agreed processes and procedures are being followed and complied with.
Work in conjunction with the RMC Procedures and Processes Manager in order to ensure best practice, accuracy of reporting and information, and continuous improvement of RMC services.
Support the performance measurement of RMC operations, identifying and implementing opportunities to improve performance
Guide the RMC Supervisor in managing escalated events or incidents, providing management direction where necessary
Provide on-call support when not on duty and will be available 24/7 to support major and critical incidents whenever they might occur.
Escalate appropriate issues and risks to the RMC Manager
Work with Incident Support contractors and their teams, Zone Framework contractors, Customer Service, Tunnels Control Room Managers and Road Corridor Management Office teams in support of safe and effective roads and tunnels network operations and management.
Support the management of incidents outside of normal hours. This includes mobilizing and leading Silver Command incidents.
Oversee RMC Supervisors and ensure that they are experienced and fully informed, and available to deputize in the RMC Manager s absence.
Oversee the deployment of severe weather response plans keeping management updated on conditions, issues and actions taken
Oversee the preparation and readiness testing of response plans and mitigation plans for major events
Work with operational partners and stakeholders such as the MOI and Emergency Services. Work to encourage information sharing between parties, thus promoting delivery of up to date and accurate information about current and future operational conditions.
Attend meetings to discuss policy and best practice. Promoting knowledge and resource sharing with stakeholders and across functions in order to support policies.
Hold regular performance meetings to engage staff and contractors with changes taking place and ensure relevant business performance information and expectations are shared
Ensure adherence to Quality, Health and Safety and Environment Policy and Procedures within the workplace and comply with any new work instructions
Mentor the RMC Supervisors with RMC Operations best practices and team leadership skills
Perform other duties/ tasks as required
