Client, an icon of sustainable development in Qatar, is seeking a Senior Sustainability Specialist for its Conservation Technology Section within the Conservation and Energy Efficiency Department (CN). This role is pivotal in promoting energy conservation and sustainable practices across Qatar's diverse sectors. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in sustainability, energy efficiency technologies, and conservation strategies, along with a strong commitment to environmental stewardship.
The Sr. Sustainability Specialist will report to the CNT Head of Section. Below is a detailed job description and qualifications for this position:
Core Responsibilities:
- Sustainability Strategy Implementation: Implement CLIENTS comprehensive sustainability and energy efficiency strategies, programs, and initiatives with the concerned stakeholders.
- Lead the ESG and Sustainability Reporting Cycle in CLIENTS.
- Assessments & Feasibility Studies: Conduct assessments and feasibility studies for conservation technologies and practices, ensuring alignment with CLIENTS sustainability goals.
- Innovation & Technology Integration: Stay abreast of emerging sustainable technologies and trends, recommending innovative solutions to enhance conservation efforts. Also, collaborate with the CLIENTS Incubator to pilot new technologies and practices for energy conservation and environmental protection.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and the private sector, to promote sustainability initiatives. Also, lead workshops, training sessions, and public awareness campaigns on conservation and energy efficiency.
- Policy & Regulation Development: Assist in developing and reviewing policies, regulations, and guidelines related to sustainability and conservation. Ensure compliance with national and international environmental standards and best practices.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Conduct comprehensive data analysis on conservation efforts and sustainability metrics. Prepare detailed reports and presentations for management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Carbon Emissions Calculation and Carbon Trade: Perform all emissions calculations and reports in relation to CLIENTS emissions. Also, seek carbon trade platforms for trading CLIENTS carbon credits.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelors degree in engineering, sustainability, environmental sciences, or a related field. A masters degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 8 years experience in a sustainability role, with at least 3 years in a senior position, preferably within the energy or utilities sector.
- - Proven track record in developing and implementing successful sustainability and conservation programs.
- -Strong understanding of energy conservation technologies and sustainable practices.
- Excellent analytical, project management, and communication skills.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
- Proven knowledge of emerging sustainability and carbon market trends, standards, policies, and strategies.
- Knowledge in sustainability and energy efficiency market research, as well as smart, sustainable, or green building platforms and analysis applications.
- Proven experience with sustainability and ESG reporting frameworks and standards.
- High-level skills in carbon credit project development.
- Extensive knowledge of quality assurance, documentation, environmental regulations, and best practices.
- Ability to carry out field visits, energy audits, inspections, and certification processes.
- Expertise in EMS, BMS, HVAC systems, and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
