Senior System Engineer:

Senior System Engineer responsible for designing, managing, and securing enterprise Windows-based infrastructure. The role involves administration of Windows Servers, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Exchange Online, and Microsoft SQL Server environments. The engineer works closely with DevOps and development teams to support application hosting environments, automate operational tasks, and ensure high availability, security, and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities include managing identity and access through Active Directory, administering Microsoft 365 services and E5 security features, maintaining Windows servers, supporting MSSQL databases, implementing automation using PowerShell and Ansible, and integrating Microsoft Azure services. The role also includes monitoring system performance, performing patch management, ensuring backup and disaster recovery readiness, handling incident response, and preparing audit evidence for internal and external compliance requirements such as NCA.

Job Requirements

Senior System Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Minimum 6 years of experience as a Windows System Administrator or Engineer
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Windows Server administration
    • Active Directory (users, groups, GPOs)
    • Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online
  • Experience configuring Microsoft 365 E5 security features (DLP, MDM, Microsoft Defender)
  • Experience managing and administering Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), including backups and performance optimization
  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting and automation tools (e.g., Ansible)
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services
  • Knowledge of system hardening, patch management, and security best practices
  • Experience preparing audit evidence and working with regulatory frameworks (e.g., NCA compliance)
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V
  • Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery best practices
  • Relevant certifications (Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, MCSA/MCSE or equivalent) are preferred
