Role Overview
You will lead and manage all facets of tax complianceincluding corporate tax, VAT, withholding tax, excise, and transfer pricingacross multiple jurisdictions in the GCC, Levant, and South Asia. This involves ensuring accurate and timely filings, navigating evolving local and regional tax laws, coordinating with external advisors, and supporting audit readiness.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee preparation and timely submission of VAT, corporate income tax, withholding tax, excise duties, and related filings across covered jurisdictions.
- Reconcile tax returns with statutory accounts and financial statements.
- Oversee preparation and review of Transfer Pricing documentation (Master File, Local File) and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Monitor legislative changes; advise management proactively on risks and opportunities; develop and implement tax strategies across jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to ensure accurate tax treatments and reporting.
- Coordinate and manage tax audits, government inquiries, and communications with tax authorities.
- Maintain accurate statutory tax records and ensure audit readiness.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors in various countries.
- Hire, train, motivate, and evaluate tax staff; nurture a high-performing team.
- Increase tax awareness across business units; embed tax considerations into business decisions.
- Implement efficient processes and systems for tax controls, filings, and compliance.
- Recommend and execute improvements to reduce risk exposure and enhance compliance.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, Law, or related field.
- Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CA, ACA, ACCA, CPA,).
Experience:
- 710+ years in tax compliance and advisory, ideally in multinational organizations or Big4 firms.
- Proven experience in GCC tax regimes (e.g., VAT, corporate tax, withholding tax), plus experience with Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, and South Asia including all our EFS Group Companies.
Technical & Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical, research, and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent communicationcapable of explaining technical tax matters to nonspecialists.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and tax compliance software.
- Ability to work crossfunctionally and across cultures; proactive, resourceful, and handson.
