The Senior Architect (BIM) is responsible for ensuring that all architectural and BIM requirements of assigned projects are fully coordinated and delivered in alignment with the design intent. The role focuses on leading BIM-enabled design solutions, maintaining high-quality standards, and ensuring compliance with project programming, timelines, budgets, and regulatory requirements.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the architectural and BIM design process for complex projects, delivering innovative, functional, and coordinated design solutions that meet client and regulatory requirements.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources while ensuring effective BIM implementation throughout all project phases.
- Oversee and mentor junior architects and BIM team members, fostering technical excellence and professional development.
- Coordinate with clients to understand project requirements, present design and BIM deliverables, and incorporate feedback.
- Ensure technical accuracy, constructability, and feasibility of architectural and BIM models in coordination with engineering and multidisciplinary teams.
- Review, approve, and validate architectural drawings, BIM models, and documentation to maintain high standards of quality and compliance.
- Ensure all architectural and BIM outputs comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Facilitate coordination between stakeholders—including clients, consultants, contractors, and BIM disciplines—to ensure seamless project execution.
- Prepare, review, and oversee detailed architectural and BIM documentation, including drawings, specifications, models, and construction documents.
- Lead BIM coordination meetings, clash detection processes, and model reviews to resolve design conflicts efficiently.
- Stay current with BIM standards, industry trends, and emerging technologies, integrating relevant advancements to enhance project delivery.
- Support HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting in line with company and IMS policies.
Job Knowledge & Skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of architectural design principles, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong experience in BIM methodologies, workflows, and standards (e.g., LOD, BEP, clash detection, model coordination).
- Proficiency in BIM and architectural software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, and SketchUp.
- Ability to manage and review federated BIM models and coordinate with multiple disciplines.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for conveying design and BIM concepts to clients and stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills to manage design teams, BIM coordinators, and consultants.
- High creativity and innovation in developing design solutions that integrate BIM for improved efficiency and quality.
- ERP knowledge is preferred; SAP functional experience is required to be successful in this role.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of total professional experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant architectural experience.
