About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Technical Consultant to provide technical and strategic advisory support across innovation initiatives, with a strong focus on Agri-Robotics, automation, emerging technologies, applied engineering and technology commercialization.

The consultant will support the identification, evaluation, validation and development of innovative technologies and solutions suitable for challenging environmental conditions.

Key Responsibilities

Agri-Robotics & Automation

• Scout and evaluate global agricultural robotics and automation technologies.
• Assess technology maturity, technical performance, reliability and scalability.
• Evaluate technology suitability for UAE operating conditions.
• Identify technology gaps and opportunities for adaptation.
• Define technical requirements, validation methodologies and pilot programs.
• Review robotics projects and technology partnerships.

Technology Scouting & Due Diligence

• Identify emerging technologies, technology companies, research programs and IP opportunities.
• Assess technology readiness and technical feasibility.
• Benchmark technologies against existing and competing solutions.
• Conduct technical due diligence.
• Identify technical risks, limitations and validation requirements.

Applied Engineering & Technology Advisory

• Evaluate cooling and thermal management technologies.
• Assess water-related technologies and advanced materials.
• Evaluate solutions designed for high-temperature and water-constrained environments.
• Support pilot projects and technology validation programs.
• Recommend technology adaptation, development or co-development opportunities.

Innovation & Commercialization

• Assess innovation portfolios and technology opportunities.
• Support prioritization of technology investments.
• Evaluate market opportunities and commercialization potential.
• Assess partnership, licensing, acquisition and co-development opportunities.
• Support techno-economic assessments and business case development.

Mentoring & Capability Development

• Mentor multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Develop technology assessment methodologies.
• Conduct technical workshops and portfolio reviews.
• Support knowledge transfer and internal capability development.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Advanced degree in Engineering, Applied Sciences or related technical discipline.
• Significant experience in applied engineering, technology development and innovation management.
• Strong experience evaluating emerging technologies and converting technical concepts into deployable solutions.
• Substantial experience in robotics and automation systems.
• Experience evaluating technologies for challenging environmental conditions.
• Proven experience taking technologies from research through field validation, product development, deployment or commercialization.
• Experience in technical assessments, feasibility studies and techno-economic evaluations.
• Strong understanding of technology commercialization and market adoption.
• Experience in innovation strategy, technology investments and portfolio development.
• International experience across industry, academia, startups, research institutions or technology-driven organizations.
• Strong mentoring, communication and stakeholder management skills.
