A leading international construction group is seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Director to lead and manage its Technical and BIM function from its Cairo office, supporting the delivery of major construction projects across the GCC.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall performance of the Technical and BIM department, ensuring multidisciplinary coordination, resource planning, technical governance, BIM delivery, quality assurance, and the timely production of project deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Technical and BIM teams based in the Cairo office.
- Support and coordinate multiple large-scale construction projects across the GCC.
- Oversee architectural, structural, civil, MEP, façade, fit-out, and BIM coordination activities.
- Manage technical resources, workloads, and priorities in alignment with project schedules.
- Ensure the timely delivery of BIM models, shop drawings, coordination drawings, material submittals, RFIs, method statements, value engineering proposals, as-built drawings, and project closeout documentation.
- Establish, implement, and enforce technical and BIM procedures, standards, templates, and quality control processes.
- Oversee BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), MIDPs, TIDPs, model federation, clash detection, model audits, and coordination closure.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, project specifications, contractual obligations, and ISO 19650 principles where applicable.
- Collaborate closely with project directors, consultants, procurement, commercial, and construction teams across multiple GCC projects.
- Monitor technical progress, approvals, resource utilization, rework, and overall team performance.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary Technical and BIM team.
- Prepare technical reports, executive management dashboards, and project recovery plans.
- Travel to project locations within the GCC as required.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required; Architectural Engineering is preferred. A master's degree is an advantage.
- Minimum of 20 years of relevant experience in construction, engineering, design, or technical management.
- At least 10 years in senior technical, design management, or BIM leadership roles.
- Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary Technical and BIM teams.
- Strong contractor-side experience on major hospitality, mixed-use, commercial, transportation, fit-out, or other complex building projects.
- Minimum of 5 years experience on GCC construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of design coordination, shop drawings, material submittals, constructability reviews, technical procurement, and project closeout.
- Proven BIM management expertise, including BEP, MIDP, TIDP, LOD, clash detection, model federation, and Common Data Environment (CDE) workflows.
- Proficiency in Revit, Navisworks Manage, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or BIM 360, AutoCAD, and Power BI.
- Good understanding of ISO 19650 and digital information management.
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness, including design responsibility, variations, and technical claims support.
- Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills.
- Fluency in both English and Arabic.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional engineering or architectural registration.
- PMP certification.
- BIM and/or ISO 19650 certification.
- Degree in Engineering Management, Construction Management, Architecture, or Civil Engineering (Bachelor's or Master's level).
- Experience with Aconex, SAP, Oracle, and 4D/5D BIM workflows.
