Palomba General Trading LLC is looking for a Senior Technical Product Manager – Process Equipment to develop and manage a specialised portfolio of industrial process technologies for customers across the UAE, Saudi Arabia and wider GCC.

The successful candidate will sit between:

  • equipment manufacturers;
  • process engineering;
  • technical sales;
  • customer applications;
  • project development.

The role requires sufficient engineering knowledge to understand where a technology fits, where it does not fit, what information is required from the customer and when specialist engineering involvement is necessary.

This is not a general marketing or catalogue-management role.

The Senior Technical Product Manager will be responsible for building structured technical and commercial knowledge around selected process-equipment families.

The objective is to convert a collection of machinery technologies into an understandable and coherent process-solutions portfolio.

The candidate will support commercial and technical teams by defining:

  • applications;
  • equipment positioning;
  • customer qualification criteria;
  • technical boundaries;
  • competitor landscape;
  • project requirements;
  • cross-selling opportunities;
  • application-specific value propositions.

The role does not replace final OEM engineering responsibility.

It ensures that customer opportunities reach engineering with the correct application context and sufficient technical information.

The position may cover technologies including:

Mixing & Blending
  • ribbon blenders;
  • paddle mixers;
  • ploughshare mixers;
  • high-intensity mixers;
  • batch mixers;
  • powder-liquid mixing systems.
High-Shear & Liquid Processing
  • rotor-stator mixers;
  • homogenisers;
  • inline mixers;
  • emulsification systems;
  • vacuum processing systems;
  • high-viscosity processing.
Milling & Particle Processing
  • mills;
  • pulverisers;
  • deagglomeration systems;
  • particle-size-control technologies.
Powder Handling
  • dosing;
  • feeding;
  • pneumatic conveying;
  • vacuum transfer;
  • bulk handling;
  • contained transfer.
Continuous Processing
  • extrusion;
  • continuous mixing;
  • feeding and process integration.
Drying
  • belt drying;
  • spray drying;
  • selected thermal processing systems.
Downstream Systems
  • filling;
  • packaging interfaces;
  • checkweighing;
  • inspection;
  • integrated lines.
  • Build detailed knowledge of assigned process-equipment families.
  • Understand each technology's principal applications.
  • Define appropriate target industries.
  • Develop technical positioning by application.
  • Identify equipment-selection boundaries.
  • Build customer discovery questionnaires.
  • Define minimum technical information required before quotation.
  • Support qualification of customer enquiries.
  • Coordinate technical discussions with equipment manufacturers.
  • Support technical sales teams during customer meetings.
  • Prepare application-focused product presentations.
  • Maintain technical product documentation.
  • Analyse competitive technologies.
  • Compare alternative process approaches.
  • Support portfolio-development decisions.
  • Identify cross-selling opportunities between equipment families.
  • Support new equipment and technology introductions.
  • Coordinate internal technical training.
  • Participate in technical workshops.
  • Attend relevant industrial exhibitions.
  • Support customer visits and process discussions.
  • Maintain structured application and reference-case libraries.

The Product Manager should be able to connect a manufacturing problem with relevant technology families.

Examples:

Customer problem:

Powder segregation and inconsistent blends

Potential technology areas:

  • mixing;
  • controlled dosing;
  • material transfer;
  • discharge design.
Customer problem:

Long batch time for cosmetic emulsions

Potential areas:

  • high-shear mixing;
  • homogenisation;
  • vacuum;
  • heating/cooling;
  • process sequencing.
Customer problem:

Inconsistent particle size

Potential areas:

  • milling;
  • pulverisation;
  • classification;
  • feed control.
Customer problem:

High dust levels during ingredient addition

Potential areas:

  • contained transfer;
  • vacuum conveying;
  • closed dosing;
  • integrated charging systems.

The first question should therefore not be:

Which machine would you like

It should be:

What process result are you trying to achieve

Machines have survived remarkably well despite humans repeatedly attempting the opposite approach.

The role will help commercial teams collect information such as:

  • product composition;
  • raw-material form;
  • viscosity;
  • bulk density;
  • moisture;
  • particle size;
  • temperature sensitivity;
  • batch size;
  • throughput;
  • desired output;
  • current equipment;
  • current bottleneck;
  • mixing or processing time;
  • cleaning requirements;
  • hygiene requirements;
  • containment;
  • utilities;
  • automation;
  • installation constraints.

This reflects the technical qualification model PGT has already defined internally: customer opportunities should arrive at engineering with material, capacity, hygiene, process and project information rather than as vague requests for a machine.

Pharmaceutical & Nutraceutical

Applications may include:

  • oral-solid preparation;
  • powder blending;
  • API/excipient handling;
  • milling;
  • contained transfer;
  • liquid preparation;
  • nutraceutical powders.
Cosmetics & Personal Care

Applications may include:

  • creams;
  • gels;
  • lotions;
  • serums;
  • emulsions;
  • shampoo;
  • conditioners;
  • high-viscosity products.
Food & Ingredients

Applications may include:

  • flavours;
  • premixes;
  • powder ingredients;
  • sauces;
  • pastes;
  • dairy;
  • confectionery;
  • functional ingredients.
Botanical & Specialty Ingredients

Applications may include:

  • botanical powders;
  • extracts;
  • natural ingredients;
  • specialty blends;
  • particle-size conditioning.

The role may develop:

  • application guides;
  • technology comparisons;
  • customer discovery forms;
  • process diagrams;
  • equipment-selection frameworks;
  • technical presentations;
  • case-study summaries;
  • internal sales tools;
  • customer workshop materials.

All technical claims should remain aligned with manufacturer documentation and validated engineering information.

The ideal candidate is an engineer or technically trained product professional who has worked directly with industrial process equipment.

The strongest profile will combine:

  • process knowledge;
  • machinery understanding;
  • technical product management;
  • application experience;
  • customer-facing communication.

We are interested in someone capable of explaining both:

how a machine works

and, more importantly,

why a particular process technology makes sense for the customer's application.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in:

  • Chemical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Process Engineering
  • Food Engineering
  • Pharmaceutical Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering

or another closely related technical discipline.

Minimum 7 years of relevant industrial experience preferred.
