Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and workstations.
- Administer user accounts, groups, and permissions.
- Perform system updates, patch management, and package installations.
- Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and log files.
- Diagnose and resolve performance issues.
- Optimize system performance through tuning and configuration adjustments.
- Manage file systems, partitions, and disk storage.
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery solutions.
- Configure and manage network services, such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, and LDAP.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
- Implement security measures, including firewall configurations and access controls.
- Perform security audits and vulnerability assessments.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and best practices.
- Develop and maintain shell scripts and automation tools for routine tasks.
- Automate system monitoring and reporting.
- Investigate and resolve system and application issues.
- Provide technical support to end-users and escalate complex problems when necessary.
- Configure and manage virtualization technologies, such as KVM, VMware, or Xen.
- Create and maintain virtual machines.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and share knowledge with colleagues.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, procedures, and best practices.
- Develop and test disaster recovery plans.
- Ensure data backup and recovery processes are effective and up-to-date.
