Key Responsibilities
- Carry out shift-based instrumentation and automation maintenance activities in RM 2 & RM 3.
- Troubleshoot and maintain field instruments, control systems, sensors, transmitters, switches, and control loops.
- Maintain and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, SCADA, and automation systems associated with the rolling mill.
- Monitor and troubleshoot instrumentation-related alarms, interlocks, trips, and process abnormalities.
- Maintain instruments used for measurement and control of temperature, pressure, flow, level, speed, position, and other process parameters.
- Inspect, calibrate, test, and replace defective instruments and control components.
- Troubleshoot control valves, solenoid valves, actuators, proximity sensors, photo sensors, encoders, limit switches, and position sensors.
- Support maintenance of rolling mill automation systems, drives, motors, MCCs, control panels, and associated E&A equipment.
- Carry out preventive and predictive maintenance according to the maintenance schedule.
- Attend breakdowns promptly and restore equipment to normal operating condition with minimum production downtime.
- Participate in planned shutdowns, major maintenance, commissioning, modification, and improvement activities.
- Analyze recurring instrumentation/automation failures and support root-cause analysis.
- Read and interpret instrumentation drawings, loop diagrams, electrical schematics, control logic, and P&IDs.
- Coordinate with Mechanical, Electrical, Production, and Process teams during breakdowns and equipment interventions.
- Maintain spare parts, tools, test equipment, calibration equipment, and maintenance records.
- Ensure proper documentation of breakdowns, preventive maintenance, calibration, and shift activities.
- Support installation, testing, commissioning, and modification of new instruments and automation equipment.
- Guide and support junior technicians and contract manpower during maintenance activities.
- Ensure proper housekeeping in instrumentation panels, control rooms, field areas, and maintenance work locations.
