Senior Tender & Cost Estimation Engineer to join our engineering team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and supporting the tendering process to ensure competitive and compliant bids aligned with the company's growth and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze tender documents, mechanical drawings, and project specifications to define the scope of work.
- Prepare detailed mechanical cost estimates, including materials, fabrication, equipment, manpower, and subcontractor services.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and develop Bills of Quantities (BOQ) based on project documents.
- Evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for both technical and commercial compliance.
- Prepare and compile technical and commercial proposals, ensuring all bid requirements are met.
- Coordinate with procurement, engineering, and project management teams to ensure accurate pricing and resource planning.
- Participate in tender clarifications, client meetings, and negotiations with consultants.
- Support value engineering initiatives by identifying cost-effective alternatives in design, materials, and methods.
- Monitor market prices, equipment rates, and material trends to maintain updated cost data.
- Maintain and update the cost estimation database for future tenders and benchmarking.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 58 years of proven experience in a metal fabrication company.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Excel, and tendering tools.
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes and material specifications.
