Build and manage a diversified commodity portfolio covering EPC-linked demand (oil & gas, metals, fertilizers, aggregates) and third-party trading flows across regional and international markets.
Originate and manage relationships with producers, refiners, trading houses, governments, utilities, industrial end-users, and infrastructure projects.
Structure and execute trading strategies including spot and term contracts, storage plays, blending margins, time spreads, and geographical arbitrage in line with company risk appetite.
Own and manage the trading book P&L, driving gross margin, risk-adjusted returns, liquidity balance, and working capital optimization, with structured reporting to senior leadership.
Manage price, basis, freight, and FX exposure using hedging instruments (futures, swaps, options) within defined risk limits and VaR parameters.
Oversee credit exposure, counterparty risk, and trade finance structuring in coordination with Finance, ensuring compliance with governance, sanctions, and international trade regulations.
Align trading strategies with EPC project lifecycles (pre-award, execution, close-out), supporting bids with forward pricing, volatility analysis, supply risk assessment, and cost optimization initiatives.
Maintain continuous market intelligence on global indices, supply-demand dynamics, freight markets, and geopolitical developments to identify structural opportunities and sustain profitable growth.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in finance, Economics, or a related field. Specialization in oil and gas is a plus.
Proven experience as a trader in the oil and gas industry with a strong track record of successful trades.
In-depth knowledge of financial markets, trading strategies, and the oil and gas midstream sector.
Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions.
Proficiency in trading software and tools relevant to the oil and gas industry.
Preferred Skills:
Advanced degree (MBA, CFA) is a plus.
Experience with algorithmic trading in the oil and gas sector.
Familiarity with international oil and gas markets.
