Position: Senior Traffic & Detour Engineer Experience: 15+ years Sector: Road & Highway Projects

Summary: A Senior Traffic Engineer specializing in road projects is responsible for planning, designing, and supervising traffic management schemes and detours to ensure safe and efficient movement during construction phases.

Key Responsibilities

• Traffic Management Planning — Develop comprehensive Traffic Management Plans (TMP) for road construction and maintenance works.
• Detour Design — Prepare safe and compliant detour layouts, ensuring minimal disruption to road users.
• Safety Compliance — Ensure all traffic control devices meet MOT, AASHTO, and international standards.
• Coordination — Work closely with contractors, consultants, and authorities to approve and implement traffic plans.
• Site Supervision — Monitor detour installation, signage placement, and temporary road works.
• Risk Assessment — Identify hazards and propose mitigation measures for traffic flow and pedestrian safety.
• Incident Management — Develop response plans for emergencies, closures, and unexpected traffic disruptions.
• Reporting — Prepare technical reports, traffic impact assessments, and compliance documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering.
• Minimum 12 years of experience in traffic engineering for road/highway projects.
• Strong knowledge of traffic control devices, detour planning, and safety standards.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, traffic simulation tools, and advanced Excel.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
