The Senior Treasury Specialist will be responsible for managing the company's daily treasury operations, cash flow, banking relationships, financing facilities, and liquidity requirements. The role requires strong experience in dealing directly with local banks, securing and managing banking facilities, optimizing cash utilization, and ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet the company's operational and vendor payment requirements.
The ideal candidate should have an established network and strong working relationships with local banks in the UAE, with proven experience in negotiating banking facilities, managing credit lines, deploying cash effectively, and supporting the company's overall financial strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Treasury & Cash Management
- Manage the company's daily cash position across multiple bank accounts and business entities.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly cash flow forecasts.
- Monitor cash inflows from retail stores, hospitality operations, e-commerce platforms, payment gateways, and other revenue channels.
- Ensure sufficient liquidity is available for vendor payments, payroll, rent, utilities, suppliers, and other operational commitments.
- Optimize cash balances and minimize idle cash.
- Plan and manage cash requirements based on business priorities.
- Monitor and reconcile cash movements between bank accounts and payment channels.
Banking Relationships
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with local UAE banks and financial institutions.
- Act as the primary treasury contact for bank relationship managers.
- Maintain strong relationships that support the company's financing and day-to-day banking requirements.
- Negotiate banking fees, interest rates, credit limits, facility terms, and other banking arrangements.
- Identify suitable banking products and financing solutions for the business.
Banking Facilities & Financing
- Lead and manage the process of obtaining banking facilities from local banks.
- Negotiate and secure suitable working capital and financing facilities.
- Manage existing overdrafts, revolving credit facilities, working capital facilities, LCs, bank guarantees, and other banking facilities.
- Monitor facility utilization, limits, maturity dates, interest costs, and repayment schedules.
- Negotiate facility renewals, extensions, increases, and improved commercial terms.
- Prepare and coordinate financial information and documentation required by banks.
- Work closely with senior management to determine short- and long-term funding requirements.
Cash Deployment & Vendor Payments
- Manage the deployment of company cash based on operational requirements and business priorities.
- Ensure sufficient funds are available to settle critical vendor and supplier payments.
- Work closely with Accounts Payable and Procurement to plan vendor payment schedules.
- Prioritize payments based on cash availability, contractual commitments, and business requirements.
- Ensure major supplier payments are properly funded and executed on time.
- Optimize available cash while maintaining sufficient working capital.
Retail & Hospitality Treasury Operations
- Manage treasury requirements across multiple retail outlets, restaurants, hospitality venues, and operational locations.
- Monitor daily cash collections and deposits.
- Monitor cashless payment settlements, card transactions, payment gateways, and other collection channels.
- Coordinate with operations and finance teams to ensure timely settlement and reconciliation.
- Monitor cash requirements for new store, restaurant, or venue openings.
- Support treasury planning for seasonal peaks, promotions, events, and high-volume trading periods.
Treasury Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare regular treasury reports for senior management.
- Report on cash positions, facility utilization, working capital, financing costs, and liquidity.
- Monitor banking costs and identify opportunities to reduce unnecessary charges.
- Provide analysis and recommendations to improve cash management and working capital.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5–8+ years of experience in Treasury, Cash Management, or Corporate Finance, preferably within a large or multi-entity organization.
- Strong and proven experience managing local banking relationships in the UAE.
- Established relationships with UAE/local banks and banking relationship managers is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in obtaining and negotiating banking facilities.
- Strong experience in managing existing banking facilities and credit lines.
- Hands-on experience with overdrafts, working capital facilities, LCs, bank guarantees, revolving facilities, and other corporate banking products.
- Proven experience in cash management and liquidity planning.
- Strong experience in cash deployment and managing funds for vendor payments.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills with banks and financial institutions.
- Ability to assess financing requirements and recommend appropriate funding solutions.
- Strong analytical and financial management skills.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, CFA, or equivalent are an advantage.
