Role Purpose
Own the technical presales lifecycle for UPS opportunitiessolution design, sizing, submittals, and bid supportensuring fast, accurate, and competitive proposals that fully comply with customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare technical and commercial offers (BoM, datasheets, compliance matrix, deviations, delivery, warranty, and payment terms alignment with sales).
- Design UPS solutions: load assessment, sizing, redundancy (N/N+1), parallel systems, autonomy calculations, battery selection (VRLA / Li-Ion), bypass arrangements, and integration with generator/ATS.
- Lead the creation of technical submittals: drawings/SLDs (if applicable), technical specifications, compliance documentation, and approvals tracking.
- Support the sales team with technical presentations, customer meetings, pre-bid meetings, and clarification responses.
- Manage project follow-up for pending bids: close open points, collect missing data, and ensure on-time submission.
- Maintain and continuously improve the costing/pricing sheets, product library, and proposal templates.
- Conduct ongoing competitor analysis (portfolio, positioning, technical differentiators, and typical pricing behavior) and produce actionable insights for the business.
- Coordinate with vendors/manufacturers on lead time, technical confirmations, and special configurations.
- Ensure proposals follow internal standards for accuracy, completeness, and margin protection.
Job Requirements (Must Have)
- B.Sc. in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- 5+ years of relevant experience as a UPS Presales / Technical Presales Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of UPS technologies: Online double conversion, modular UPS, batteries, parallel operation, power quality fundamentals.
- Strong skills in teamwork, technical presentations, and problem-solving.
- Highly organized, with excellent time management and ability to manage multiple bids at once.
- Good English (written & spoken).
- Excellent Excel (BoM builds, costing, margin calculations, comparative sheets).
Nice to Have (Preferred)
- Experience with data centers, healthcare, industrial, banking, telecom UPS applications.
- Familiarity with IEC 62040, compliance matrices, and tendering workflow.
- Ability to read/produce Single Line Diagrams (SLD) and basic layout coordination.
- Experience working with major UPS brands .
