On schedule to open in the United Arab Emirates in 2027, Wynn Al Marjan Island has been created as an opulent and entertaining beachside destination for discerning guests to play and relax. Located less than 50 miles from Dubai International Airport, this integrated resort offering 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants and lounges, a theater, nightclub, and five-star spa is currently under construction on a picturesque island that gracefully curves into the Arabian Gulf.
About The Position
Wynn Al Marjan Island is currently seeking a Senior Welder Technician - Logistics Centre to join the resort's Logistics Centre team.
Responsibilities
The primary duties and responsibilities of this role are:
- Supervise and guide fabrication and welding teams in daily operations.
- Review and approve technical drawings, blueprints, and job instructions.
- Ensure all welding and fabrication work meets structural, aesthetic, and safety standards.
- Fabrication & Welding
- Operate advanced welding equipment (MIG, TIG, SMAW, FCAW) and fabrication tools.
- Lead the assembly and welding of complex metal structures such as frames, racks, and crates.
- Perform joint preparation, finishing, and inspections for quality assurance.
- Maintenance & Repairs
- Oversee inspection and repair of metal fixtures, containers, and logistics equipment.
- Ensure preventive maintenance schedules are followed for all fabrication tools and machinery.
- Maintain documentation of welding certifications and inspection reports.
- Operational Support
- Collaborate with logistics and warehouse teams to develop custom metal solutions for storage and transport.
- Support load-ins, load-outs, and refurbishment projects.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe fabrication workspace.
- Compliance & Safety
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure team adherence to PPE and hazard controls.
- Ensure compliance with UAE regulations and Wynn safety standards.
- Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings regularly.
- Team Development
- Mentor junior fabricators and welders.
- Conduct performance evaluations and recommend training or upskilling.
- Foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
About You
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Welding Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in industrial welding and fabrication, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Certification in welding (AWS, ASME, or equivalent) required.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and operating advanced fabrication machinery.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities.
- Expert-level technical skills in welding and fabrication.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
