Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an energetic and attentive Assistant Server to support the daily operation of the Clubhouse Restaurant.
The ideal candidate will be organised, observant and comfortable working in a busy service environment. They will support the Server and wider restaurant team by preparing tables, delivering food and beverages, clearing used items and ensuring service areas remain clean and well stocked.
This role requires someone who works efficiently, responds quickly to operational needs and contributes positively to the guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Servers in delivering attentive and efficient food and beverage service.
- Prepare tables and service areas before each shift.
- Ensure tables are correctly set with clean cutlery, glassware, crockery, menus and condiments.
- Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen or bar to the correct tables.
- Confirm table numbers and order details before delivering items.
- Assist with serving bread, water, condiments and other accompaniments.
- Clear used plates, glassware, cutlery and other items promptly.
- Reset tables efficiently following guest departure.
- Replenish service stations, side stations, condiments, napkins and operating supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation across the restaurant floor and service areas.
- Communicate guest requests promptly to the assigned Server.
- Support the team in responding to guest needs during busy service periods.
- Assist with buffet setup, replenishment and clearing when required.
- Support the preparation and service of group bookings, events and Clubhouse activities.
- Assist with opening, closing and shift handover procedures.
- Handle operating equipment carefully and report damaged or missing items.
- Monitor service supplies and inform the Server or Supervisor when replenishment is required.
- Coordinate with the Culinary, Stewarding and Bar teams to support smooth service.
- Maintain knowledge of the restaurant layout, table numbers and basic menu offerings.
- Follow food hygiene, HACCP, fire, health and safety requirements.
- Maintain a professional appearance and high standard of personal grooming.
- Attend departmental briefings, meetings and training sessions.
- Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by the Server, F&B Supervisor, Outlet Manager or F&B Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant, café, clubhouse or hospitality environment is preferred.
- Basic understanding of food and beverage service procedures.
- Willingness to learn and develop within a restaurant service environment.
- Ability to work efficiently and follow instructions.
- Good attention to detail and table presentation.
- Clear verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain active and attentive throughout the shift.
- Professional appearance and positive demeanour.
- Ability to carry trays and handle restaurant equipment safely.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
