Job Title: ServiceNow Discovery Specialist
Location: Abu Dhabi
Experience: 8+ years in ServiceNow Discovery and ITOM
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled ServiceNow Discovery Specialist with deep knowledge of Discovery architecture, troubleshooting, and integrations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with VMware, AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, and a strong understanding of MID Server operations, protocols (SSH, WMI), and Discovery patterns.
Key Responsibilities
- ServiceNow Discovery & ITOM:
- Configure and maintain ServiceNow Discovery schedules, credentials, and patterns.
- Implement and optimize Discovery for on-prem and cloud environments (VMware, AWS, Azure).
- Perform Kubernetes cluster discovery and ensure accurate CI population in CMDB.
- Troubleshoot Discovery failures, credential issues, and MID Server connectivity.
- MID Server Management:
- Deploy, configure, and maintain MID Servers for Discovery and orchestration.
- Understand how MID Server executes probes and sensors for data collection.
- Protocols & Connectivity:
- Strong knowledge of SSH (Linux/Unix) and WMI (Windows) for credential-based access.
- Validate and troubleshoot firewall, ports, and authentication issues.
- Cloud & Virtualization Expertise:
- Configure AWS and Azure Discovery using ServiceNow patterns and APIs.
- Kubernetes Discovery:
- Implement Kubernetes Discovery patterns for pods, nodes, and clusters using ServiceNow recommended approach
- Troubleshooting & Optimization:
- Analyze Discovery logs, MID Server logs, and fix pattern/script errors.
- Optimize Discovery schedules for performance and accuracy.
Required Skills & Experience
- ServiceNow Discovery & ITOM (mandatory).
- Strong understanding of Discovery architecture, probes, sensors, patterns.
- Hands-on experience with VMware vCenter, AWS EC2, Azure resources, and Kubernetes clusters.
- Knowledge of SSH, WMI, and credential management.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow CMDB best practices.
- Scripting knowledge (JavaScript, PowerShell, Python) for pattern customization.
- Experience with MID Server deployment and troubleshooting.
- ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist Discovery
- Understanding of ITOM Health, CMDB data and structure, Service Mapping and Event Management.
