Organizational Unit Purpose
The Shariah Audit Division is responsible for ensuring that all banking activities, products, services, and operational processes within Emirates Islamic are conducted in compliance with Shariah principles, internal policies, and regulatory requirements. The division performs independent Shariah audits and assessments to identify compliance gaps, recommend corrective actions, and strengthen the overall Shariah governance framework. It also works closely with various business units to support continuous improvement, maintain effective controls, and uphold the bank's commitment to Islamic banking standards and ethical practices.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting Shariah audit assignments in line with the approved audit plan and Shariah governance framework.
- Support in documenting audit observations, findings, and recommendations accurately and professionally.
- Participate in meetings with business units to discuss audit results, corrective actions, and implementation follow-ups.
- Assist the audit team in reviewing banking products, processes, and operations to ensure compliance with Shariah principles
- Utilize audit tools, systems, and technology to support efficient execution of Shariah audit activities and reporting.
Main Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Islamic Banking, Shariah, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Knowledge of Islamic banking products and AAOIFI Shariah Governance Standards
- Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ability to learn audit-related systems and tools
- Professional certification in auditing or Islamic finance is an added advantage.Organizational Unit Purpose
