The Shift In-Charge is responsible for supervising and coordinating warehouse operations during assigned shifts to ensure smooth receiving, storing, picking, and dispatching of products. This role ensures adherence to food safety, quality, and compliance standards while leading warehouse teams to achieve operational efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
Responsibilities
Oversee all warehouse activities during the assigned shift, including receiving, storage, order picking, and dispatch processes.
Monitor and evaluate staff performance, assign daily tasks, and provide on-the-job training to warehouse assistants and operators.
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and food hygiene, including temperature-controlled storage and handling.
Coordinate with logistics, inventory, and customer service teams to achieve timely and accurate order fulfillment.
Conduct shift handovers and accurately prepare daily reports on operations, productivity, and discrepancies.
Investigate and resolve operational issues, escalating to the Warehouse/Operations Manager when required.
Maintain high housekeeping standards and oversee the proper handling of warehouse equipment.
Promote teamwork, discipline, and the company's core values among all team members.
Must Have Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
3–5 years of experience in warehouse or logistics operations, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or shift leadership position.
Proven knowledge of warehouse operations, especially in cold chain and food distribution environments.
Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP software (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
Strong understanding of health & safety, HACCP, and food hygiene standards.
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Nice to have requirements
Valid forklift or material handling equipment license.
Experience leading teams in a temperature-controlled or food-grade warehouse facility.
Skill in troubleshooting and resolving operational issues in real-time.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
