Professional Experience (Must Have)
5 years Experience In steel industry into Rolling Mill 2&3 Roll Shop
Minimum Qualifications
Diploma/Bachelor's
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out roll and mill stand maintenance during shift operations.
- Perform roll changing, roll assembly, dismantling, and installation as per established procedures.
- Inspect and maintain mill stands, work rolls, bearings, chocks, spindles, couplings, and related components.
- Check roll alignment, stand condition, clearances, and mechanical settings.
- Assist in setting and adjustment of mill stands during product/size changeovers.
- Carry out preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of rolling mill equipment.
- Inspect bearings, seals, couplings, gearboxes, spindles, and lubrication systems and report abnormalities.
- Support planned shutdowns, major maintenance, overhauling, and emergency breakdown activities.
- Identify mechanical defects and carry out necessary repairs to restore equipment availability.
- Use mechanical tools, lifting equipment, tackles, and measuring instruments safely.
- Coordinate with crane operators and other maintenance personnel during roll and stand change activities.
- Ensure correct handling, identification, storage, and transportation of rolls and mechanical components.
- Follow maintenance instructions, SOPs, work permits, and safety procedures.
- Maintain proper housekeeping in the roll shop and rolling mill area.
- Record maintenance activities, equipment defects, and shift handover information.
- Support root-cause identification of recurring mechanical failures.
- Follow all applicable HSE, LOTO, PPE, and safe working practices.
