The Thumbay Institute of Clinical Simulation (TICS) at Gulf Medical University, Ajman, is seeking a skilled and motivated Simulation Operations Technician to support our state-of-the-art clinical simulation center.
This role is ideal for candidates passionate about healthcare simulation, technology, and supporting immersive learning experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain high-fidelity simulators and task trainers
- Support VR/AR systems and advanced AV recording platforms (SimCapture)
- Set up and reset simulation scenarios and OSCE stations
- Create moulage to enhance clinical realism
- Manage equipment maintenance, consumables, and inventory
- Provide technical and medical support during simulation sessions and CME programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field
- Foundational medical knowledge (vital signs, clinical terminology, basic anatomy & physiology)
- Strong technical skills in simulation, AV systems, and troubleshooting
- Experience in simulation labs or healthcare environments is an added advantage
Professional Skills
- Operation and maintenance of simulation manikins and task trainers
- Basic medical and clinical knowledge
- Proficiency in AV systems, cameras, microphones, and recording software
- Basic computer and networking skills
- Ability to set up OSCE stations and simulation scenarios
- Moulage skills (or willingness to learn)
- Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving abilities
- Good organizational and inventory management capabilities
- Ability to train faculty and students on equipment use
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
