Job Purpose
The Site Engineer acts as the bridge between design and execution. They manage technical on-site operations while playing a key role in material sourcing, procurement support, and budget alignment. This role ensures that the design intent is realized cost-effectively by coordinating with designers, sub-consultants, and vendors to deliver projects on time and within scope.
Job Responsibilities:
- Site Management & Coordination
- Technical Leadership: Act as the main technical advisor on construction sites for contractors, subcontractors, and operatives
- Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate with all project stakeholders, including clients, sub-consultants, and contractors, ensuring alignment with agreed quality standards
- Sub-Contractor Management: Coordinate and hire sub-contractors when needed, managing their scope and performance on-site
- Site Monitoring: Perform regular site visits to monitor operations, identify progress, and resolve technical difficulties or problems
- Health & Safety: Enforce compliance with health and safety policies and regulations during the implementation phase
- Materials, Sourcing & Procurement Support
- Material Research: Research and recommend materials & finishes that align with the project's design concept and budgetary constraints
- Supplier Relations: Assist in communication with suppliers, introducing available new materials when possible, and managing material procurement if needed
- Sourcing: Liaise with vendors, contractors, and suppliers to source specific materials, fixtures, and finishes required for the design
- Quotations & Samples: Support the procurement process by assisting in obtaining quotations from suppliers/third-party entities and requesting physical samples for approval
- Budgeting, BOQs & Cost Control
- BOQ Production: Collaborate with designers to produce and specify the Bill of Quantities (BOQ), ensuring accuracy in quantities and specs
- Design-Budget Alignment: Collaborate with designers to ensure that proposed design concepts align with the project budget and financial goals before execution
- Project Tracking: Support Project Managers in tracking project schedules and budgets, flagging deviations early
- Resource Management: Track project materials and tools to ensure efficient allocation and minimize waste
- Documentation & Reporting
- Reporting: Report continuous project progress and on-site visit reports
- Documentation: Administer the preparation of contracts, project schedules, and specifications
Benefits

- Experience: 4-6 years of relevant experience in site supervision and technical office duties
- Certifications: Project Management (PMP or similar) is a plus
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of materials, finishes, and local suppliers in the Egyptian market
- Ability to produce and review BOQs
- Strong negotiation skills with vendors and subcontractors
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office (Excel for BOQs)
