Job Summary
Responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely execution of all structural steel fabrication and erection activities at site. The role ensures steel works are delivered in line with project schedule, quality, budget, and HSE requirements while coordinating closely with subcontractors and site teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and control structural steel fabrication, delivery, and erection activities on site.
- Ensure full compliance with company HSE policies and promote a strong safety culture.
- Lead toolbox talks, safety walks, and actively participate in site safety activities.
- Coordinate with steel subcontractors to ensure works follow approved method statements and schedules.
- Monitor daily progress, prepare look-ahead plans, and support achievement of key milestones.
- Ensure first-time-right quality by enforcing Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and approved work methods.
- Supervise steel erection activities including welding, bolting, alignment, and lifting operations.
- Resolve technical and execution issues in coordination with engineering and construction teams.
- Manage direct manpower and resources for self-performed steel works when required.
- Ensure works comply with the approved Construction Execution Plan and project standards.
- Maintain accurate site documentation related to safety, quality, and progress.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years experience in onshore Oil & Gas / Petrochemical construction.
- Diploma or higher in Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection methods.
- Familiarity with international standards (AWS, AISC, BS/EN, ISO).
- Good understanding of HSE, quality control, and construction planning.
- Excellent English communication skills (written & verbal).
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and subcontractors.
