Site section Head mechanical Engineer

Job Purpose

To lead and supervise the execution of all mechanical MEP works on site, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and the approved project schedule. The role involves managing site engineers, coordinating with other disciplines, and ensuring the successful delivery of mechanical systems across residential and commercial buildings.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Execution & Supervision

• Lead and supervise the execution of mechanical MEP works, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and other relevant mechanical systems.
• Ensure that all site activities are carried out in accordance with approved shop drawings, technical specifications, method statements, and applicable codes.
• Monitor daily site progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to meet project milestones.
• Supervise subcontractors and ensure proper allocation of manpower, materials, and equipment.

2. Technical Coordination

• Review and coordinate mechanical shop drawings, builders work requirements, and material submittals.
• Coordinate with electrical, civil, architectural, and other relevant disciplines to resolve site clashes and interface issues.
• Follow up on RFIs, technical issues, and design discrepancies in coordination with the technical office and consultants.
• Ensure that mechanical installations are properly coordinated with architectural finishes and construction activities.

3. Quality Control & Testing

• Ensure compliance with approved project quality standards and inspection requirements.
• Coordinate inspections with the consultant and quality control team.
• Supervise testing, commissioning, and pre-commissioning activities for mechanical systems.
• Ensure proper closure of site observations, inspection comments, and non-conformance reports.

4. Planning & Reporting

• Coordinate with the planning team to monitor progress against the approved project schedule.
• Prepare and review short-term execution plans and report progress, constraints, and required resources.
• Identify potential risks affecting site execution and coordinate appropriate mitigation measures.
• Monitor material requirements and coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely availability.

5. Team Leadership

• Lead, guide, and supervise mechanical site engineers, supervisors, and subcontractor teams.
• Distribute responsibilities, monitor performance, and provide technical support to the site team.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination between the mechanical team and other project stakeholders.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Relevant experience in the execution and supervision of mechanical MEP works within residential and commercial construction projects.
• Previous experience in a supervisory or section leadership role, managing site engineers and subcontractors.
• Good technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems.
• Proven ability to review and interpret mechanical shop drawings, specifications, and coordinated MEP drawings.
• Experience in site coordination, progress monitoring, quality control, testing, and commissioning.
• Familiarity with construction sequencing, manpower planning, material coordination, and project reporting.
• Good communication, leadership, problem-solving, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work on site and manage multiple work fronts within a fast-paced construction environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in residential compounds, mixed-use developments, commercial buildings, or large-scale developments.
• Exposure to coastal or resort developments and projects with multiple buildings and infrastructure interfaces.
• Experience working with consultants, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary construction teams.
