Job Summary:

The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily on-site operations and ensuring that all construction activities are carried out according to approved plans, technical specifications, and project schedules. The role involves coordinating field teams, monitoring quality, ensuring safety compliance, and reporting progress to the Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily Site Supervision: Monitor construction activities and ensure all work is executed according to drawings and technical specifications.
  • Team Coordination: Direct and guide laborers and subordinate supervisors, ensuring effective task distribution and optimal performance.
  • Quality Control: Inspect materials and workmanship to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Schedule Adherence: Track project progress and ensure alignment with the project timeline; adjust plans when delays occur.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all personnel strictly follow safety and occupational health procedures on site.
  • Problem-Solving: Address technical or logistical issues that arise on-site and provide prompt and effective solutions.
  • Reporting: Submit regular progress reports, highlight resolved issues, and recommend necessary plan adjustments to the Project Manager.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor the receipt and availability of materials and equipment required for uninterrupted work progress.
  • Subcontractor Oversight: Ensure subcontractors execute their work according to agreed specifications and timelines.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, manpower, equipment usage, and site operations.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of safety standards and construction regulatory requirements.
  • Comprehensive understanding of construction processes, including structural works, concrete, and finishing.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and project schedules.
  • Familiarity with construction materials and heavy equipment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks. Behavioral Skills:
  • Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to make quick decisions during emergencies.
  • Good understanding of project management principles and construction operations.
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with teams and conducting meetings.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changes in the project environment.
  • Strong leadership and teamguidance capabilities.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, or a relevant diploma (preferred).
  • 5 years of experience in supervising construction or contracting projects.
  • Good knowledge of construction materials and modern building techniques.
  • Strong ability to read and understand engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Professional Project Management Certification (PMP) is an added advantage.
