Job Summary

The Smart Cities Sales Engineer supports sales and Solutions business development activities by providing technical expertise and solution design for smart city projects. The role focuses on bridging customer requirements with innovative smart city technologies including IoT, networking, automation, and digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Smart city Development

  • Identifying and developing smart city opportunities.
  • Engage with municipalities, government authorities, consultants, and system providers / contractors.
  • Participate in customer meetings, presentations, and technical discussions.
  • Support preparation of proposals, tenders, RFQs, and RFPs.

Pre-Sales & Technical Support

  • Analyze customer requirements and recommend suitable smart city solutions.
  • Understand requirements and suggest high-level solution architectures and system designs.
  • Support in Preparing technical documentation, solution diagrams, and Bills of Materials (BoM).
  • Conduct product demonstrations, proof-of-concepts (PoCs), and workshops.

  • Smart Lighting
  • Smart Parking / tunnel management System.
  • Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS)
  • Smart Utilities (Water, Energy, Gas)
  • Smart Buildings & Infrastructure
  • Environmental Monitoring
  • IoT & Connectivity Platforms
  • Flood management
  • Networking and cloud base solutions.
  • Advertising solutions
  • Demand center and micro datacenters ..etc

Coordination & Project Support

  • Coordinate with pre-sales , engineering, project management, and vendor teams.
  • Support transition from sales to project execution teams.
  • Liaise with technology partners and OEMs for solution validation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications Engineering, or related field.
  • 5–7 years of experience in sales engineering, pre-sales, or solution engineering.
  • Experience in smart cities, IoT, infrastructure, automation projects.

Technical Skills

  • Understanding of smart cities and IoT architectures.
  • Knowledge of sensors, gateways, controllers, and platforms.
  • Familiarity with networking technologies (Ethernet, Fiber, Wi-Fi, Cellular).
  • Awareness of protocols such as MQTT, Modbus, OPC UA.
  • Ability to create technical drawings and solution documentation.

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Customer-oriented and solution-driven mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel for meetings and site visits.

Preferred Certifications (Optional)

  • Smart City or IoT certifications
  • Networking certifications (CCNA or equivalent)
  • Project management fundamentals
