SOC Analyst L1

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, SOC, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of SIEM/SOC platforms such as FortiSIEM, Splunk, QRadar, USM Anywhere (AlienVault), or similar.
• Good analytical and troubleshooting skills.
• Good command of written and spoken English.

The Candidate Should Be Able to Demonstrate

• Basic understanding of network security, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
• Basic understanding of common cyber threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques.
• Ability to analyze security alerts and identify suspicious activity.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash is a plus.
• Cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, CySA+, or similar are a plus.

Duties

• Monitor security events and alerts through SIEM/SOC platforms.
• Review and analyze security alerts and identify potential threats.
• Perform initial investigation and triage of security incidents.
• Follow established SOC processes and procedures when handling alerts and incidents.
• Escalate confirmed or complex security incidents to L2/L3 analysts.
• Support incident response and threat investigation activities.
• Assist in identifying suspicious activities, vulnerabilities, and potential security threats.
• Maintain accurate incident records, dashboards, and security reports.
• Work closely with L2/L3 analysts and IT/security teams to support threat mitigation and containment.
• Support security documentation and awareness activities.
• Work in a 24x7 service environment, with 8-hour rotating shifts across 3 shift cycles per day, as part of a team of 6 analysts.
