Software Engineer

About the Role

As a JSoftware Engineer at Aspire, you will support the modernization of the JavaScript ecosystem across a large enterprise portfolio. You will assist with migrating 2,000+ applications to the latest JavaScript versions and help transition teams from npm to pnpm. You will collaborate with teams across Indeed to facilitate migrations, troubleshoot application issues, and improve dependency management. This role requires strong hands-on JavaScript expertise, deep knowledge of the open-source ecosystem, and the ability to work flexible hours that overlap with the US team. Time Zone Coverage: US CST.

What You'll Do

• Support the JavaScript ecosystem modernization across enterprise applications.
• Assist with the migration of 2,000+ applications to the latest JavaScript versions.
• Assist with the migration from npm to pnpm.
• Collaborate with teams across Indeed to support and facilitate migrations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application migration issues.
• Help automate migration workflows and dependency management where possible.
• Document migration patterns, dependencies, and operational processes.
• Ensure build stability, performance, and compatibility across migrated applications.

What You'll Need

Must-Have Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with JavaScript.
• Experience migrating applications to newer JavaScript versions.
• Experience using pnpm.
• Deep understanding of the JavaScript open-source ecosystem.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving application migration issues.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours to overlap with the US team.
• Experience with large-scale application modernization or migration projects.
• Experience automating application migrations.
• Familiarity with AI tools.
• Familiarity with build optimization and dependency management.
• Experience working with enterprise JavaScript applications at scale.
