Software Engineer II - Java, EDI Integration

Scope:

• Blue Yonder Defense Solutions (BYDS) is seeking a Software Engineer with deep expertise in enterprise-grade Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems to lead the design and modernization of mission-critical logistics integration platforms.

• This role will be responsible for architecting scalable, resilient solutions that support complex document exchange, transformation, and orchestration workflows across internal and external partners, including government and defense systems.

• The ideal candidate brings strong experience in Java development along with EDI standards, message processing systems, and integration architectures, and can bridge traditional EDI systems with modern, cloud-native, event-driven platforms.

Our current technical environment:

• Software: Java 8, Oracle Sql, any Sql Database, Data Structures, javascript/react js, Node js, python, EDI standards like ANSI X12 or EDIFAC.

• Application Architecture: Service Networking Overlay, aiming for a single, cloud-agnostic architecture that simplifies policy management across public/private clouds via components like service meshes, API gateways, and centralized control planes, allowing consistent security and traffic flow (like a modernmicroservicesapproach), differing from simple client-server models by abstracting network complexity.

• Cloud Architecture: ..Cloud-Agnostic:.. Runs consistently across different cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premise.

What you'll do:

• Design, develop, and maintain Enterprise Java-based applications

• Develop unit tests, functional tests, and integration tests using tools such as Junit.

• Understand EDI Integration processes.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement new features

• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback

• Troubleshoot and debug applications to resolve issues

• Contribute to all phases of the software development lifecycle

• Ensure application performance, quality, and responsiveness

What we are looking for:

• Education: BE/ME or B Tech/M Tech in Computer Science, MCS or MCA in Computer Science/ Supply Chain

• Min 4 - 5.5 max years of experience in Java development.

• Strong knowledge of Java, JavaScript

• Familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle

• Familiarity with EDI concepts

• Understanding of object-oriented programming and design patterns

• Good problem-solving and analytical skills

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• This will be work from Pune BYDS office(Not remote).
