System Architecture & Design

  • Design and develop scalable, modular, and maintainable PLC software architecture for automation and semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
  • Define and standardize PLC software architecture, including:I/O structure and naming conventionsState machine and sequence control logicInterlock, safety, and fail-safe strategiesAlarm handling philosophyReusable software modules and coding standards
  • Review and continuously improve PLC software design standards across projects to ensure consistency, reliability, and maintainability.

Software Development & System Integration

  • Develop advanced PLC software using IEC 61131-3 programming languages, including Ladder Diagram (LD), Structured Text (ST), and Function Block Diagram (FBD).
  • Design and integrate PLC systems with:HMISCADAMESERPIndustrial communication protocols such as EtherCAT, Modbus TCP/IP, SECS/GEM, OPC UA, and REST APIs where applicable.
  • Support system commissioning, troubleshooting, performance optimization, FAT, SAT, and customer buy-off.

Technical Leadership

  • Lead and mentor Software Engineers on PLC software design, architecture, troubleshooting, and best engineering practices.
  • Review software quality, coding standards, and project deliverables.
  • Drive technical decisions, software standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support project planning, technical risk assessment, resource planning, and customer technical discussions.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of hands-on PLC automation experience, preferably in semiconductor equipment or machine automation.
  • Proven experience in:PLC software architecture and system designComplete project lifecycle (design, development, commissioning, FAT, SAT, and customer buy-off)Troubleshooting complex automation systemsSystem integration with HMI, SCADA, MES, ERP, and industrial communication networks
  • Strong hands-on experience with one or more major PLC platforms, such as Omron, Siemens, Rockwell, Mitsubishi, Beckhoff, or Keyence.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols, including EtherCAT, Modbus TCP/IP, SECS/GEM, OPC UA, and related automation technologies.
  • Experience leading technical teams, mentoring engineers, and establishing PLC software standards.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
