Job Summary
The Software Sales Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of client accounts by selling software solutions that align with customer business needs, preferably with experience in industrial or commercial companies. This role focuses on revenue growth, renewals, up-selling, and long-term relationship management, acting as the primary point of contact between the company and its customers.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Customer Relationships
- Serve as the primary relationship owner for assigned accounts
- Build trusted relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders
- Conduct regular account reviews and strategic planning sessions
- Act as the voice of the customer internally
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Own revenue targets for assigned accounts
- Drive renewals, up-sell, and cross-sell opportunities
- Manage the full sales cycle for account expansion
- Prepare proposals, pricing, and contract negotiations
Customer Retention & Collaboration
- Partner with Customer Success and Support teams
- Identify churn risks and implement retention strategies
- Monitor customer health, adoption, and satisfaction
Product & Market Knowledge
- Maintain strong knowledge of software offerings and road-map
- Understand industry trends and competitive landscape
- Share customer feedback with product and leadership teams
Forecasting & Reporting
- Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts
- Track KPIs including revenue growth and renewal rates
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 13+ years of B2B software sales or account management experience
- Proven ability to meet or exceed revenue targets
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
Preferred Qualifications
- SaaS or enterprise software sales experience
- CRM experience (Salesforce, Hub-spot, etc.)
- Understanding of subscription-based business models
- Experience in industrial or commercial companies is highly preferred
