Software System Test Engineer

Purpose Of the Job:

To validate cutting-edge automotive embedded systems. You will be responsible for designing test setups, executing manual and automated tests, and ensuring functional safety, security, and reliability across domains such as telematics, high-performance computing, AI-driven features, and real-time OS environments.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Test Setup & Environment

– Build, configure, and maintain hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) test benches.

– Integrate ECUs, power supplies, communication interfaces (CAN, LIN, Ethernet), and measurement equipment.

• Test Execution & Automation

– Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Python

– Execute manual and regression tests for Infotainment, digital clusters, SoC, and AI-based features .

• Specialized Testing Domains

– Telematics : Validate connectivity (4G/5G, Wi-Fi, GNSS), V2X, OTA updates, and eCall functionality.

– Safety : Conduct ISO 26262-compliant tests (fault injection, failure mode verification).

– Security : secure communication tests and authentication checks.

• CI & Tooling

– Integrate test suites into CI pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI).

– Use Vector CANoe for bus simulation, diagnostics (UDS), and distributed system testing.

• Reporting & Debugging

– Log defects in tracking tools (JIRA, Polarion), analyze logs, and support developers with root-cause analysis.

Education:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

Experience:

Experience: 1-2 years in automotive software/system testing

Skills and Abilities:

• Programming/Scripting : Python (for automation, data analysis, and test harnesses)
• Automotive Tools : Vector CANoe (CAPL scripting, panel design, simulation nodes)
• Communication Protocols : CAN, CAN FD, LIN, Ethernet (Some/IP, DoIP), UDS
• Test Frameworks : Robot Framework, PyTest, or similar
• CI/CD : Jenkins, GitLab
• Core Testing Domains :
• Infotainment & cluster validation (HMI, responsiveness, boot times)
• ADAS
• Telematics
• Analytical thinking and attention to detail
• Good communication in English (written/spoken)
• Ability to work in agile/scrum teams
• Mobility: Readiness to travel for work assignments within or outside of Egypt.
