Software Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

1. Test Strategy & Planning

o Participate in defining test strategies for projects.

o Develop test plans, test cases, and automation scripts.

o Contribute to best practices and standards for test execution and documentation.

2. Test Execution & Automation

o Execute manual and automated test cases across platforms.

o Design and maintain automation scripts for functional, regression, and smoke testing.

o Integrate test suites within CI/CD pipelines and monitor execution.

3. Mentorship & Review

o Mentor and support junior testers with technical guidance and code reviews.

o Share knowledge of tools and practices through documentation or training sessions.

4. Collaboration & Requirements Analysis

o Work with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand functional and technical requirements.

o Participate in sprint planning and estimation meetings.

o Provide clear and timely feedback on quality risks, defects, and improvements.

5. Defect Management & Reporting

o Log, track, and manage defects using standard tools (e.g., JIRA, Azure DevOps).

o Analyze test results and prepare reports on test coverage and effectiveness.

o Provide input on improving software quality and testability.

6. Continuous Improvement

o Explore new tools and approaches to improve testing efficiency and coverage.

o Contribute to team retrospectives and process enhancements.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

· Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

· 4+ years of experience in software testing, including hands-on test automation.

· Experience mentoring junior team members.

· Strong understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

Technical Skills:

· Proficiency in test case design, test execution, and automation scripting.

· Hands-on experience with automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, TestNG, Cucumber).

· Knowledge of API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Rest Assured).

· Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).

· Experience with at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Java, Python).

· Performance testing experience (e.g., JMeter) is a plus.

· Certified ISTQB Foundation level is mandatory

· Certified ISTQB Agile tester is a Mandatory.
