Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Soil Laboratory Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing and analyzing soil tests in accordance with approved standards and specifications, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of test results, while maintaining compliance with quality and safety requirements to support project execution efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform soil testing according to approved standards and specifications (ASTM, AASHTO, BS, or equivalent).
  • Analyze test results and verify their accuracy prior to issuing technical reports.
  • Operate soil laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring readiness and compliance with calibration and maintenance requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with laboratory quality management systems and approved procedures.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and laboratory accreditation requirements.
  • Maintain accurate test records, documentation, and technical reports.
  • Report non-conformities and support the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements within the laboratory.
  • Coordinate with technical teams and project engineers regarding testing requirements and results.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Geology, Soil Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • 5–7 years of practical experience in soil and material testing laboratories.
  • Strong knowledge of soil testing standards and procedures (ASTM, AASHTO, BS, or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of laboratory quality systems and accreditation requirements; preferably ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) is preferred.

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Ability to analyze test results and prepare technical reports.
  • Proficiency in operating soil laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
  • Commitment to quality standards and occupational safety requirements.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and Microsoft Office tools.
