Job Description

Element has an opportunity for a Technical Specialist (Soil Chemist) to join our growing team in Dubai, and this is a great opportunity to develop your testing career within a Global TIC business.

In this role you will primarily be working with the chemistry lab team to develop the expertise in the analysis of soil samples using traditional wet techniques and instrumentation, (including physical measurements, traditional measurement, and metals and organic impurity determination).

This position will be based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Address technical queries related to test results, ensuring scientific accuracy and clarity for customers. This is particularly pertinent to queries initiated from the soil section of Decca, (Dubai Municipality)
  • Lead the auditee team during internal and external audits by providing responses to queries related to ISO/IEC 17025 requirements
  • Support continuous improvement of quality systems and ensure compliance with accreditation standards
  • Deliver excellent customer service by handling inquiries, clarifying analytical results, and initiating investigations where results are disputed
  • Maintain strong communication with clients, ensuring transparency and confidence in laboratory services
  • Develop analytical methods for environmental samples (water, soil) in line with international standards
  • Validate and evaluate method performance parameters including bias, precision, detection limits, linear range, and measurement uncertainty
  • Prepare and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for in-house developed
  • Collaborate with the Safety team to implement 5S practices, risk-assessment review and safety-related initiatives in the laboratory
  • Partner with the Operational Excellence (OPEX) team to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance workflow effectiveness
  • Schedule and coordinate laboratory activities, including field sampling and team assignments
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members to build expertise and maintain high-quality standards

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Degree or postgraduate qualification in Soil Chemistry or a closely related field, with 510 years of relevant industry experience
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to extended working hours when required (including evenings or weekends)
  • Strong English communication skills both verbal and written
