Solution Architect – Oracle Retail POS

Role Overview

We are looking for a Solution Architect with strong experience in Oracle Retail POS, Java, system integration, cloud and microservices architecture. The person will work with Business, Product, Engineering and Delivery teams to design scalable, reliable and high-performance retail applications, primarily for a global commerce environment. The role involves understanding business requirements, defining solution architecture, designing integrations, supporting development, and providing technical guidance to engineering teams.

• Understand business requirements and define solution architecture.
• Design integrations and support development.
• Provide technical guidance to engineering teams.
• Convert business requirements into technical/solution designs.
• Provide technical direction and architecture guidance.
• Conduct design/technology reviews.
• Create POCs for new technologies.
• Prepare architecture documentation and current/future-state architecture.
• Support effort estimation and technical planning.

Qualifications

• 13–15 years overall experience.

1. Oracle Retail POS – Must Have

• 8+ years of experience with Oracle Retail POS Suite
• Strong hands-on experience in:
• Oracle Xstore
• Xenvironment
• Xadmin
• Xcenter
• XServices
• Experience with OpChain Framework
• Strong Oracle Database experience
• Strong understanding of Retail/POS systems and integrations

2. Architecture

• 4+ years of Solution/Application Architecture experience
• Strong end-to-end understanding of application architecture
• Experience designing scalable, reliable and resilient systems
• Strong experience in system integration and backend architecture
• Ability to convert business requirements into technical/solution designs

3. Java

• 7+ years of hands-on Core Java (J2SE) and Advanced Java (J2EE)
• Strong programming and integration concepts

4. Front-End

• 4+ years of front-end development experience
• Any of:
• Node.js
• React.js
• Angular

5. Cloud & Distributed Architecture

• 3+ years of cloud architecture/design experience
• Experience with:
• Cloud infrastructure
• Container services
• Serverless architecture
• High availability
• AWS preferred
• Experience with Microservices
• Experience with event-driven/message-driven architectures

6. CI/CD

• 2+ years of experience with CI/CD
• Any of:
• GitLab
• Jenkins
• GitHub Actions

7. Technical Leadership

• Experience mentoring and guiding junior and senior engineers
• Ability to provide technical direction and architecture guidance
• Experience conducting design/technology reviews
