Job Title: Solutions Engineer (SCADA & BMS)

Role Purpose: To provide hands-on technical and commercial support in solution development, costing, estimation, and proposal preparation for Automation, Building Management Systems (BMS), IoT, and Industrial Solutions. The role is responsible for developing scalable, cost-effective, and client-focused solutions aligned with company standards and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Design & Engineering
- Analyze client requirements, specifications, drawings, and BOQs to develop technical solutions.
- Design and develop Automation, Instrumentation, Control Systems, and BMS solutions.
- Prepare technical submittals in accordance with client requirements and project specifications.
- Review and consider I/O points, system architecture, and control requirements during design stages.
- Supervise and guide AutoCAD/design teams in preparation of technical drawings and layouts.
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and design specifications.
Costing, Estimation & Commercial Support
- Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates in line with company costing policies.
- Develop tender pricing strategies to maximize profitability while remaining competitive.
- Support commercial and sales teams during bidding, tendering, and proposal stages.
- Prepare technical and commercial offers for clients and partners.
- Evaluate logistics costs, Incoterms, and supply chain impacts within solution pricing.
Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Evaluate vendor quotations and negotiate pricing and commercial terms.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors to support business objectives.
Project Support & Client Coordination
- Conduct project studies, site surveys, and technical meetings with clients.
- Attend client meetings to secure technical clarifications and approvals for submitted proposals.
Continuous Improvement & Team Collaboration
- Work closely with engineering teams to implement best practices and improve solution quality.
- Manage multiple priorities effectively with minimal supervision.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- Proven experience in solution engineering, costing, estimation, and proposal development.
- Hands-on experience in building management systems (BMS).
- Experience in pre-sales and tendering environments preferred.
