Sourcing Lead ( Agriculture & Export )

Role Objectives:

To ensure a reliable, cost-effective, and year-round supply of high-quality fresh produce by developing strategic sourcing partnerships, managing supplier performance, mitigating supply risks, and securing inbound volumes that support the domestic B2B and export business.

Roles & Responsibilities:

● Build and manage Breadfast's contract farmer and third-party supplier network: Identify, evaluate, contract, and maintain relationships with vetted growers across key producing regions, ensuring alignment with the A&E crop calendar.

● Negotiate and manage seasonal supply contracts: Define and secure volume commitments, grade specifications, pricing mechanisms, and delivery windows.

● Execute spot procurement: Step in when contract supply falls short of demand commitments; maintain a qualified backup supplier list and closely monitor market availability at all times.

● Monitor crop volumes and progress: Track harvest progress, volume forecasts, and projected yield gaps on a rolling basis; provide the A&E Planning & Operations team with availability updates during the season.

● Flag supply risks early: Proactively report risks, such as weather events, farmer contract breaches, pest outbreaks, or price spikes, to the BU Head and A&E P&O team with sufficient lead time to activate mitigation.

● Track commodity pricing benchmarks: Monitor Egypt and global market pricing (Cairo wholesale indices, EU import prices, seasonal price curves, and competitor sourcing activity) and prepare monthly market intelligence reports.

● Support global certifications: work alongside the Agriculture Senior Manager to ensure contract farmers are progressing toward pre-certification requirements, maintaining the compliance status tracker for the farmer register.

● Coordinate inbound logistics: Manage produce transport from the farm gate to the warehouse, overseeing the handoff and quality checks at receipt.

Required Education, Knowledge, And Skills: Sourcing Lead

● 5+ years in fresh produce procurement, contract farming management, or commodity trading, ideally at an Egyptian exporter

● Strong farmer network in key growing regions (Delta, Nubaria, Fayoum, Wadi El Natroun - Upper Egypt) is a key differentiator

● Understanding of seasonal price dynamics and commodity risk in Egyptian fresh produce markets

● Arabic essential; English for export-grade specification writing

● Comfortable operating in an early-stage business unit: proactively building processes and infrastructure from scratch.
