Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Researcher (Spanish Speaker) to collect, analyze, and validate business, financial, and industry data from a variety of Spanish and English-language sources. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring data accuracy, extracting insights, and supporting data-driven decisions for internal and client-facing projects focused on Spanish-speaking markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct online and database research on companies, industries, and marketsparticularly in Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, and other Latin American countries.
- Extract key data points such as ownership structure, shareholders, subsidiaries, financial metrics, products, and locations.
- Translate, interpret, and analyze Spanish-language documents, reports, and websites.
- Validate and clean large datasets to maintain data accuracy and consistency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (analysts, product, and engineering) to enhance data collection tools and research workflows.
- Monitor and update records based on new filings, announcements, or market events.
- Prepare summaries, data mappings, and insights reports in English.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Data Science, Finance, International Studies, or a related field.
- Fluency in Spanish and English (reading, writing, and comprehension).
- Strong skills in online research, data collection, and verification.
- Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, or SQL; familiarity with data visualization tools is a plus.
- Ability to understand corporate structures, ownership types, and financial statements.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience in data research, market intelligence, or due diligence is preferred.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience using Spanish and Latin American business databases (e.g., Informa D&B, Orbis - Bureau van Dijk, local company registries, etc.).
- Familiarity with Python or web scraping tools for data extraction.
- Understanding of global company taxonomies and industry classifications (e.g., CNAE, NAICS, SCIAN, ISIC).
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
