Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Provide specialist consultations for dermatological conditions in outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of skin, hair, and nail diseases, including chronic, acute, and complex cases.
- Perform dermatological procedures such as biopsies, cryotherapy, excisions, phototherapy oversight, intralesional injections, and cosmetic dermatology (if applicable).
- Lead dermatology clinics, urgent referral clinics, and specialty clinics (e.g., psoriasis, eczema, skin cancer).
- Participate in skin cancer screening, dermatoscopy, and minor surgical procedures.
- Provide on-call dermatology support when required.
Patient Care & Safety
- Ensure high standards of patient care aligned with clinical guidelines and evidence-based practice.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and provide patient education.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records and documentation.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Multidisciplinary Collaboration
- Work closely with other doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, including skin cancer MDTs.
- Provide specialist advice to other departments and external healthcare partners.
Teaching & Training
- Supervise and teach junior doctors, medical students, and nursing staff.
- Contribute to departmental teaching programs, workshops, and continuing medical education (CME).
Leadership & Service Development
- Contribute to the development and improvement of dermatology services.
- Participate in clinical governance, audits, guideline development, and research activities.
- Engage in strategic planning to expand services and introduce new technologies or treatments.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in dermatopathology, cosmetic dermatology, or skin cancer surgery.
- Research experience and publications in dermatology.
- Ability to lead service development initiatives.
- Teaching qualifications or experience.
