A General Surgeon is responsible for performing a wide range of surgical procedures to treat injuries, diseases, and deformities. The role involves diagnosing patients, planning and executing surgeries, and providing post-operative care while adhering to UAE healthcare regulations and international medical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform surgical procedures such as abdominal, gastrointestinal, hernia, breast, and emergency surgeries
- Examine patients, review medical history, and diagnose surgical conditions
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests (X-rays, CT scans, blood tests)
- Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to patients
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Follow infection control and patient safety protocols
- Handle emergency surgical cases promptly
- Stay updated with advancements in surgical techniques and medical technologies
Required Qualifications
- MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery)
- MS / MD in General Surgery or equivalent specialization
- Board certification or equivalent (preferred)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 35 years of experience as a General Surgeon
- Experience in laparoscopic (minimally invasive) surgery is highly preferred
