Job Description

About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Specialist in Intensive and Critical Care Medicine to join a leading healthcare facility in Sharjah. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced critical care management to patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), ensuring high-quality, evidence-based treatment for critically ill patients.

This role requires strong clinical expertise, rapid decision-making skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary critical care team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care for critically ill patients in the ICU
  • Manage complex cases including sepsis, multi-organ failure, respiratory failure, and trauma
  • Perform and interpret advanced hemodynamic monitoring and ventilatory support
  • Manage invasive procedures including central venous catheterization, arterial lines, and intubation
  • Lead resuscitation efforts and emergency critical care interventions
  • Collaborate with anesthesiology, emergency medicine, surgery, and internal medicine teams
  • Develop and implement individualized critical care treatment plans
  • Ensure adherence to ICU protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards
  • Participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds and case discussions
  • Supervise junior doctors, residents, and ICU nursing staff
  • Contribute to quality improvement, audits, and ICU clinical governance
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of critical care guidelines and best practices

Requirements

  • Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution
  • Board Certification or equivalent specialization in Intensive Care / Critical Care Medicine
  • Minimum of 3–5 years experience in ICU or critical care setting (post-specialization preferred)
  • Strong proficiency in advanced airway management and life-support procedures
  • Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
  • Excellent clinical judgment and ability to work under pressure
  • Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
  • Eligibility for UAE medical licensing (MOHAP for Sharjah)
