About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated
Specialist in Intensive and Critical Care Medicine to join a leading healthcare facility in Sharjah. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing advanced critical care management to patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), ensuring high-quality, evidence-based treatment for critically ill patients.
This role requires strong clinical expertise, rapid decision-making skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary critical care team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for critically ill patients in the ICU
- Manage complex cases including sepsis, multi-organ failure, respiratory failure, and trauma
- Perform and interpret advanced hemodynamic monitoring and ventilatory support
- Manage invasive procedures including central venous catheterization, arterial lines, and intubation
- Lead resuscitation efforts and emergency critical care interventions
- Collaborate with anesthesiology, emergency medicine, surgery, and internal medicine teams
- Develop and implement individualized critical care treatment plans
- Ensure adherence to ICU protocols, infection control, and patient safety standards
- Participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds and case discussions
- Supervise junior doctors, residents, and ICU nursing staff
- Contribute to quality improvement, audits, and ICU clinical governance
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of critical care guidelines and best practices
Requirements
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution
- Board Certification or equivalent specialization in Intensive Care / Critical Care Medicine
- Minimum of 3–5 years experience in ICU or critical care setting (post-specialization preferred)
- Strong proficiency in advanced airway management and life-support procedures
- Experience with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
- Excellent clinical judgment and ability to work under pressure
- Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
- Eligibility for UAE medical licensing (MOHAP for Sharjah)
