Job Purpose:
To maintain and administer the major SCADA systems in Marafiq Load Dispatch Center (LDC) in Yanbu which are Energy Management System (EMS) and Historical Information System (HIS) including all other subsystems like RTU Communication Server (RTUCS) and Video Projection System (VPS) while ensuring uninterrupted operations of LDC systems, and performing data management and extraction.
Key Duties & Responsibility
1.Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities on all LDC system applications software, operating systems & hardware.
2.Carryout system administration activities on all LDC systems.
3.Use of real-time data monitoring techniques, data historian management and data visualization tools to effectively extract, analyze, and present ICS information.
4.Monitor and attend all system alarms and events generated from EMS and HIS systems based on their priorities and in coordination with LDC power operations.
5.Provide technical assistance to LDC power operation on failures by troubleshooting, generating reports and resolving failures that occur in the EMS/HIS systems and their subsystems.
6.Perform Oracle database administration, analysis and performance optimization utilizing indexes and dynamic tables.
7.Develop Oracle forms and reports and extracting the required data for operation and development as business need.
8.Perform PL/SQL scripting, monitor database conditions, proactively rebuild indexes, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
9.Manage WebLogic server domains, clusters, deployments and monitoring or tuning WebLogic server performance.
10.Carryout installation, configuration, and administration activities on Linux operating system.
11.Manage Linux OS services, performing troubleshooting, and implementing security best practices.
12.Witness testing and commissioning activities in LDC for new substations or extensions and ensuring proper integration to existing LDC systems and functionality.
13.Perform full backups on the EMS and HIS systems and restore the system in case of partial or full failures.
14.Monitor EMS/HIS system processes, CPU, disk space, and network traffic and ensure system efficiency and reliability.
15.Create, delete, and manage user accounts for LDC power operators and reinitialize password accounts and specifying responsibilities.
16.Perform modifications and configurations in EMS and HIS systems database and integrate new devices and compatible applications.
17.Responsible for database design, development, implementation, information storage and retrieval, data flow and analysis activities.
18.Monitor the usage of materials and maintain Min/ Max of the spare parts. Monitor the stock of spare parts for future maintenance work.
19.Troubleshoot and repair LDC system hardware including system machines, printer, monitors, video projectors and wall displays.
20.Adhere to Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures.
21.Prepare, revise, evaluate the PM task sheet and close CM/PM work orders.
22.Review the engineering design packages for the new installation and upgrade projects.
23.Inspect and receive material from warehouse.
24.Participate in the site surveys with vendors and auditors.
25.Track and oversee the obsolescence of LDC systems and their end-of-life status.
26.Assist the LDC/SCADA vendors in executing SLA tasks and contact the OEM for technical queries.
27.Initiate MDG create and change requests for Material Data Governance.
28.Participate in PES CAPEX gating process to represent OT department and provide required deliverables.
29.Initiate, manage and close OPEX projects of LDC.
30.Patriciate in evaluating bidders technical proposals for projects, services and materials.
31.Support and participate in reliability studies like RCA, RCM, HAZOP & IPF as required.
Position Requirements
▪ Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or equivalent.
▪8 years field experience with major utility organizations or SCADA system manufacturers.
▪Enough working experience in Energy Management System and Historical Information Systems.
▪Enough working experience in Siemens Spectrum Power TG EMS software applications.
▪Enough working experience in Oracle administration and development tools (Oracle database, forms and reports, PL/SQL, application server and web logic server).
▪Enough working experience in Linux operating systems.
▪Enough working experience with Linux command-line tools, scripting, and automation.
▪Enough working experience in SAP - Plant Maintenance module.
Professional Certification(s)
Required: RHCSA, RHCE, MCSA or CompTIA Server+
Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) and Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate
Preferred: PMP, CMRP.
