Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated
Specialist Neurosurgeon to join a leading healthcare facility in
Al Ain. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive diagnosis, surgical treatment, and follow-up care for patients with disorders of the brain, spine, and peripheral nervous system. Working within a multidisciplinary team, the Specialist will deliver evidence-based, patient-centered neurosurgical care while contributing to the hospital's commitment to clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with a wide range of neurosurgical conditions.
- Perform elective and emergency neurosurgical procedures within the scope of specialist practice.
- Treat conditions including:
- Brain tumors
- Traumatic brain and spinal injuries
- Degenerative spine disorders
- Hydrocephalus
- Intracranial hemorrhage
- Cerebrovascular disorders
- Peripheral nerve disorders
- Spinal trauma and disc disease
- Interpret diagnostic investigations, including CT, MRI, angiography, and neurophysiological studies.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Participate in emergency and trauma call rotations as required.
- Collaborate with neurologists, intensivists, orthopedic surgeons, rehabilitation physicians, oncologists, radiologists, and other specialists to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
- Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, continuing medical education (CME), and departmental meetings.
- Stay updated with the latest developments and advances in neurosurgery.
Qualifications
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
- Completion of specialist training in Neurosurgery.
- Minimum 3 years of post-specialization experience as a Specialist Neurosurgeon in a reputable hospital.
- Western education and/or clinical experience (UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Eligibility for or possession of a valid DOH Specialist License (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Demonstrated expertise in cranial and spinal neurosurgery.
- Excellent communication, clinical decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
