Job Title: Specialist Pipeline Engineer - Offshore FEED Project
KBR is growing its Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team for an exciting, high‑profile offshore development in Abu Dhabi. The ADNOC PMC project role would be based initially in Contractors Office in Abu Dhabi for some time till administrative process is completed and the candidate will be moving outside UAE ( to an Asian Country) for 6 - 8 months and then returning to UAE.
The project duration is until 2028 with possible extension.
Job Purpose
The Specialist Pipeline Engineer will provide technical expertise and oversight for offshore pipeline systems during the FEED phase under Client PMC. The role ensures pipeline design integrity, compliance with ADNOC standards, and alignment with project safety, operability, and constructability objectives.
Key Responsibilities
FEED Engineering & Design
- Lead and review FEED deliverables related to offshore pipelines, subsea flowlines, and risers.
- Ensure pipeline routing, sizing, wall thickness design, and material selection meet ADNOC Offshore standards.
- Verify compliance with applicable codes (ASME B31.4/B31.8, DNV-ST-N001, DNV-ST-N002, API standards).
- Evaluate design philosophies for installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning.
PMC Oversight & Contractor Management
- Review and approve EPC contractor FEED deliverables, calculations, and specifications.
- Ensure contractor adherence to Client specifications, HSE policies, and quality standards.
- Participate in technical bid evaluations and vendor document reviews.
- Monitor engineering progress, identify risks, and ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
Pipeline Integrity & Technical Assurance
- Ensure integrity management is embedded in design (corrosion protection, cathodic protection, coatings).
- Review stress analysis, fatigue analysis, and upheaval/lateral buckling studies.
- Validate design for piggability, maintenance, and long-term operability.
- Ensure proper design for tie-ins, crossings, and subsea interfaces.
Interface & Multidisciplinary Coordination
- Coordinate with process, subsea, structural, geotechnical, and marine engineering teams.
- Interface with HSE, QA/QC, and project controls teams.
- Support alignment between pipeline systems and offshore facilities (platforms, wellheads).
Risk & Safety Considerations
- Support HAZID, HAZOP, and constructability reviews.
- Identify pipeline-specific risks (e.g., external damage, thermal expansion, free spans).
- Ensure ALARP principles are applied in design.
Installation & Constructability Review
- Assess installation methods (S-lay, J-lay, reel-lay).
- Review installation studies, vessel requirements, and offshore execution strategies.
- Evaluate seabed conditions, route surveys, and geotechnical data.
Documentation & Reporting
- Review pipeline design basis, specifications, and engineering reports.
- Provide regular updates to ADNOC Offshore PMC management.
- Maintain technical registers, action trackers, and compliance documentation.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Pipeline Engineering or equivalent.
- Master's degree is an advantage.
Technical Expertise
- Strong knowledge of:
- Offshore pipeline design & subsea engineering
- DNV, ASME, API codes and ADNOC standards
- Pipeline stress and integrity analysis tools
- Experience in shallow water offshore projects in the Middle East is an advantage.

Experience
- Minimum Overall 15+ years of experience in the oil and gas sector.
- Minimum 5-7 years in offshore FEED / detailed engineering projects.
- Experience in WHT, subsea pipeline installation, and marine operations.
- 12-15+ years of experience in oil & gas pipeline engineering.
- Prior experience working in PMC roles and ADNOC Offshore projects is highly preferred.
