Job Purpose
To provide highquality, specialistlevel rheumatology care in line with evidencebased clinical standards, supporting the diagnosis, treatment, and longterm management of musculoskeletal, autoimmune, and inflammatory conditions. The role delivers safe, ethical, and patientcentred care within a busy outpatient (OPD) clinic environment in Al Karama, Dubai.
Role Overview
This is an outpatientbased (OPD) rheumatology role based at our HealthHub Clinic in Al Karama, Dubai.
The position is well suited to a Specialist Rheumatologist with strong outpatient experience who is comfortable managing chronic disease pathways, longterm followup, and high patient volumes in a community clinic setting.
Candidates already familiar with the Al Karama catchment area or patient demographic will be well positioned, though this is not a mandatory requirement.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive specialist rheumatology care in line with bestpractice clinical guidelines and AlFuttaim Health Medical Staff Bylaws
Assess, diagnose, and manage a broad range of rheumatological and musculoskeletal conditions, including inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue diseases, osteoporosis, and chronic pain conditions
Conduct detailed outpatient consultations and manage longterm treatment plans
Prescribe and monitor pharmacological therapies, including DMARDs and biologics, in line with clinical protocols
Perform joint examinations and outpatient procedures where applicable (e.g. joint injections)
Order and interpret relevant laboratory tests and imaging investigations
Counsel patients on diagnosis, treatment options, medication use, and lifestyle modification
Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical records
Collaborate with physiotherapy, orthopaedics, primary care physicians, and other specialists to optimise patient outcomes
Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental development activities
Engage in continuing medical education and remain current with advances in rheumatology practice
Candidate Profile
DHAlicensed or DHAeligible Specialist Rheumatologist
Strong clinical competence across general rheumatology in an OPD setting
Comfortable managing chronic conditions and longterm patient followup
Experience working in a busy outpatient or community clinic environment
Excellent communication skills with patients and multidisciplinary teams
Patientfocused, ethical, and qualitydriven in clinical practice
Teamoriented, reliable, and adaptable
Familiarity with the Al Karama area or similar highvolume catchments is an advantage
Arabic language skills are an advantage
Qualifications And Experience
MBBS / MBChB or equivalent from an accredited institution
Completion of a recognised specialty qualification approved by DHA, HAAD, or MOH (UAE)
Minimum 5 Years Postqualification Experience At Specialist Level
Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Fluency in English (spoken and written); Arabic is an advantage
Publications in peerreviewed journals are advantageous but not mandatory
