Job Purpose:
To lead and manage all security operations within a retail mall environment while maintaining strong coordination with government authorities to ensure compliance, safety, and operational continuity.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Security Operations Management
- Oversee daily mall security operations including guards, supervisors, and control room staff
- Develop and implement security policies, SOPs, and emergency response plans
- Conduct risk assessments, site surveys, and vulnerability audits
- Monitor CCTV systems, access control, and alarm systems
- Manage incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions
- Lead crowd management during peak seasons, sales, and special events
- Conduct Joint audits with security service provider to ensure as outlined in the security contract they are following SLAs/KPAs.
- Input the joint audit score in the FSI system followed by closing of the monthly PMS report.
- Perform the Duty Managers at various shifts.
- Attend major events and during public holidays
- Attend and lead all VVIP and VIP visits by coordinating with protocol office
- Follow up pending insurance cases with the support of admin team.
Government Relations & Compliance
- Act as the main point of contact with government authorities (Police, Civil Defence, Municipality, MCC, ITC, Protocol office etc.)
- Ensure compliance with local laws, licensing requirements, and safety regulations
- Coordinate inspections and audits by government bodies
- Facilitate approvals for events, expansions, and security system upgrades
- Prepare required documentation and reports for regulatory authorities
Emergency & Crisis Management
- Lead and coordinate emergency drills (fire, evacuation, medical incidents)
- Liaise with Civil Defence and emergency services during incidents
- Ensure all tenants comply with safety and evacuation standards
- Lead crisis response team during major incidents
Tenant & Stakeholder Coordination
- Support tenants with security requirements and event planning
- Address security concerns from retailers and management
- Maintain strong collaboration with mall management and operations teams
Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Submit weekly and monthly security performance reports
- Analyse incident trends and recommend preventive measures
- Implement technology upgrades to enhance security effectiveness
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in security management, Business Administration, or related field (Preferably)
Key Requirements:
- UAE National (mandatory)
- 5+ years of experience in retail/mall security management
- Strong knowledge of local government regulations and compliance procedures
- Experience dealing with police, civil defence, and municipality authorities
- Experience in planning of VVIP/high profile visits
- Fluent Arabic and English (spoken and written)
- Proven senior experience in security operations, preferably in malls, retail, mixed-use assets, or large facilities
- Strong established network with authorities in Abu Dhabi
- Solid knowledge of UAE security, safety, and regulatory frameworks
- Strong leadership presence with the ability to manage teams and vendors on-site
- Confident, decisive, and comfortable operating in high-pressure situations
