Specialist - Sustainability Governance
The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) is the supervisory and regulatory authority of the banking and insurance sector in the United Arab Emirates. CBUAE is responsible for enhancing monetary management, financial stability and protecting consumers through effective supervision of licensed financial institutions, prudent management of reserves, robust financial infrastructure and the adoption of digital technologies.
CBUAE is currently looking to hire a seasoned and highly motivated professional in the Corporate Governance Department, who would be responsible to support the development and implementation of CBUAE's sustainability governance, provide technical expertise, and drive high-quality reporting, awareness, and engagement on sustainability related initiatives across CBUAE and with external stakeholders.
Core Responsibilities
- Assist in design, development, implementation and continuous improvement of CBUAE's sustainability framework in line with industry's best practices and international standards, ensuring its alignment with the broader CBUAE agenda and strategy.
- Assist in conducting benchmarking and materiality assessments on sustainability in comparison with leading global practices and international standards.
- Assist in providing administrative and technical advice to the top management and coordinate with relevant internal stakeholders regarding topics related to environmental and social initiatives within the CBUAE sustainability framework.
- Support in implementing policies and procedures regarding environmental governance and climate change and social responsibility governance within CBUAE
- Assist in preparing the management training process on ESG principles and policies across CBUAE.
- Collect, consolidate, and validate sustainability-related data, and support the development of high-quality content, visualizations, and infographics for CBUAE's internal management reports and the annual sustainability report
- Support in preparing the ESG awareness plan, content, and ensure timely implementation.
- Assist in researching, collecting, analyzing data, for thought leadership articles on ESG, which will be published on the CBUAE website.
- Assist with efforts for CBUAE's representation and application towards awards, certifications, accreditations related to ESG
- Perform any other duties outside the scope as and when required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Master's/Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field such as, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Business Administration/Management/Accounting or a related field or relevant subject.
- Any relevant professional certifications or memberships.
- Minimum of 3+ years experience in a sustainability corporate field.
